Our baby girl also contracted Herpes Virus just after her birth and we do not know how she contracted the virus. Maybe a visitor or a nurse? We will never know. As a first time mum it was the most difficult time I have had to go through. At ten days old (Christmas Day 1988) she was extremely ill and we were desperate for her to get well. Through the prayers of many, many people we didn't even know and the wise doctor our little girl finally pulled through. Years later I wrote her story which was published in a "Mother & Infant" magazine just as a way of expressing the journey I went through. Our daughter is now married with a young son and another baby on the way.
Fortunately our story has a happy ending. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family.

Baby Kaiden will always have a special place in my heart, and it was my privilege to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House at Alder hey, in his memory, by running the 10k Mersey Tunnel Run on Sunday 10th June 2012. I raised over £1900 which is a fitting tribute to such a beautiful baby, who is now an angel in heaven. R.I.P. Kaiden x x x x

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
